About

The Schengen Museum and tourist information office are run by the Centre Européen Schengen a.s.b.l., an association founded in 2004 to promote tourism in the region and highlight the importance of the Schengen Agreement. Following 15 successful years, and with the financial support of the municipality of Schengen and the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy, the museum underwent extensive modernisation in 2024/25. It reopened on 14 June 2025 which marked the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Schengen Agreement. The historic boat on which the agreement was signed has since become part of the exhibition under the name Prinzessin Marie-Astrid Europa and is moored at the Moselle. Over the years, the museum has developed into a recognised documentation and education centre. Through its activities, it promotes dialogue, exchange, and international cooperation.
