Guided Tour: Schengen Is Alive

  • Price: 90 €
  • Age: 16+
  • up to 25 participants

We have many years of experience in offering guided tours and educational activities. Our official guides will be delighted to explain the monuments and provide important background knowledge about the Schengen agreements, as well as insider anecdotes. Tours must be booked in advance.

European history was written here in the border triangle Luxembourg, France and Germany. On board the MS Princesse Marie-Astrid representatives from Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany signed the Schengen Agreement on June 14th, 1985. The agreement was one of the major steps towards a unified Europe and the abolishment of inner-European border controls between the signing countries. Schengen is considered the cradle of a borderless Europe: travelling without border formalities from one country to another, be it by foot, by bike, or by car. Discover how it all came about, and why it is so important today.

Be aware that tours take place mainly outdoors. Of course, a visit of the museum is included. Guided tours can be booked in several languages and can also be held outside of our normal opening hours.

The Schengen Experience

  • Price: 200 €
  • Age: 8 – 12 years
  • 10 – 25 players

Educational escape game for schools.

Circumstances have called on you to go on a special mission and save our open borders. Part interactive theatre, part escape room – during your adventure you will learn about the fundamental values and the history of the European Union, all in a playful manner.

This game uses theatre and roleplay to communicate some educational concepts in an experiential way. Children experience what a world without open borders could look like. They explore the history of the European Union, its role in fostering peace and building a strong economy, as well as some of the cultural symbols of the member states. Finally, the children are encouraged to pool the information they gathered and build a strong argument for open borders by themselves.

Created in collaboration with Logic Locks – an award-winning design studio for meaningful immersive gaming experiences.
